Energy Supply
Renewable energy originates from a source that is not depleted when used, such as the wind. This form of energy is more beneficial as it doesn’t contribute towards global warming and is also self-sustainable. Examples of renewable energy include solar power, wind power, hydropower (hydroelectricity), exothermal, biomass and bio-energy. Non-renewable energy refers to a non-sustainable source of energy production, for example, crude oil, that over time is depleted and thus, will eventually run out. Further examples include coal, peat, gaseous fuels, petroleum fuels, unconventional oil, nuclear energy, nuclear fission and uranium; all of these energy sources producing emissions and thus, contributing towards the worsening situation of climate change.
